How to send a case to DenTec.

Whether you’re going fully digital or sending physical impressions, the steps below get your case into our queue cleanly and ready to mill.

Two ways in

Digital scans or conventional impressions — pick yours.

  1. 01

    Capture a clean scan

    Use a clean, well-trimmed scan. Remove blood, saliva, and debris from the prep before capturing. Capture the prep, opposing, and bite in occlusion.

  2. 02

    Export the case file

    STL or PLY works for every restoration we make. Proprietary formats from iTero, Trios, CEREC, Carestream, Medit, and Planmeca are accepted.

  3. 03

    Attach the RX

    Send the scan files along with a completed RX form (PDF or printed) through your scanner’s lab portal addressed to DenTec. Not set up for portal transfer yet? Contact the lab and we’ll get your files in.

  4. 04

    In production

    Please allow at least 10 business days while we fabricate your restoration.

  5. 05

    Delivered ready

    Returned via courier in your standard delivery window, hand-checked and ready for try-in.

Best practices

  • Mark the prep margin with a clear retraction line before scanning.
  • Scan opposing teeth fully — both buccal and lingual.
  • Capture the bite in centric occlusion, twice if possible.
  • Photograph the shade tab beside the prep under natural light.

    Capture clear impressions

    Use a well-set PVS or polyether of your choice. Pour-up isn’t required — we’ll handle that here.

  2. 02

    Include the opposing & bite registration

    A bite registration in maximum intercuspation is essential for accurate articulation.

  3. 03

    Complete the RX form

    Download the DenTec RX form, print it, fill it out completely (including shade and prep details), and tape it to the outside of your case bag.

  4. 04

    Schedule a pickup

    Call 704.563.1111 for complimentary same-day courier service, or use our prepaid return shipping label if you’re outside our route.

  5. 05

    In production

    Please allow at least 10 business days while we fabricate your restoration.

  6. 06

    Delivered ready

    Returned via courier or shipping, hand-checked, and ready for try-in.

Shade communication

A photo of the shade tab beside the prep — under natural light — is worth a hundred written notes.

Margin clarity

If the margin isn’t crystal clear in your scan or impression, we’ll call. Faster to recapture than rework.
